More About “Sisters”…

28″ x 22″ painting in oil and acrylic.

This is a portrait of my sister June Swanson and myself on a vacation together in Vancouver, WA  July, 2010. A picture of us together is taken all too seldom due to the distance between the places where we live.

My “Sisters” portrait made me realize that painting my sister’s face is a way to show that I love her. I have a fear of painting those I care about – because I don’t think I can do justice to their likeness. June and I don’t look alike, but I have devised a way to have a family resemblance in this portrait. It helps being the artist – I can give myself a clear complexion and cut down on the wrinkles with no surgery – voila!

Original painting is not available for purchase.

One Response to “More About “Sisters”…”

  1. June Swanson says:

Ya, you’re right, you look too good in this one. I’m feeling the love and I am proud to be your sister. Your gift of service continues to amaze and bless us all! I pray that God continues to bless you!
