I can hardly believe that there is only one more day until the start of my first solo show. This is the biggest personal event I’ve ever planned (except for my wedding!).
My friend Ebonie Klassen did a photo shoot of myself working in my office, and one of her lovely photos was used for an article in the local Canstar Community Paper here in Winnipeg. Click on the photo to read the article.
My bosses, Dave Zeglinski and Steve Bell will be setting up a little speaker system so that Steve can sing a bit for us at the opening on Friday. I’m sure Steve will be available to chat and point out the paintings from his photographs.
Special guest performer Davis Plett will also serenade us on Sunday the 18th in the evening. He is the son of my friend, photographer Tim Plett. Davis’ sister is featured in one of my paintings.
Refreshments will be available and excellent coffee is provided by Gourmet Coffee Specialists.
Over 70 of my original paintings will be on display, and many of those paintings have been made into prints. Some of the prints have been mounted or framed by specialist Richard Turgeon at the Artist’s Emporium on St. James Street. He does creative and amazing things with framing.
A very special thank you to my husband Darrell, who has done so much work to make this event happen, besides all of his love, support and patience with the “mad artist”.
