More About “Mozart at Greenbelt – Malcolm Guite”

32″ x 24″ painting in acrylic on masonite

Part Two of a trilogy of paintings of singer/songwriter/poet Malcolm Guite of Cambridge, based on photos by writer/photographer Lancia E. Smith.

The finished painting features the actual handwriting of Guite, who kindly sent it via email.

See Part One of the Trilogy in Faye’s blog “Creativity Begets Creativity” at this link.

Read the article in the MB Herald (Aug. 2012 issue) on the collaboration that created this series of portraits.

Guites’ poem, “Mozart at Greenbelt” can be viewed at this link.

She has also graciously allowed me to publish the links to her series of three interviews with Malcolm Guite, accompanied by more of her beautiful photos of the man himself.

Shown here is the first stage of the painting, where everything is roughed in, and some pipe smoke appears to look like a woman in the background. Originally Faye was going to include a guitar, but in the end decided that it was a distracting element.

This painting is not available for purchase at this time.
