Jewelry designer, Diana Pops created a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pendant for me to wear to the opening of my art showing on June 26/14. The pendant design was inspired by a few designs she sketched for Steve Bell, which were intended as reward incentives for his Kickstarter campaign to fund his 25th anniversary album 4-disc set, Pilgrimage.
When I saw the dagger sketch that Diana had made for a bookmark, I knew that that was the design I wanted for my pendant, to symbolize my own life pilgrimage.
The three symbols of pilgrimage that are used in the album design created by Roberta Hansen, are the shell (to scoop water), the compass (to find direction) and the dagger (for protection and many other practical purposes).
I absolutely LOVE the way people and creativity connect and inspire others. My own art has been inspired by music, poetry, friendship, faith and family.
“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecc. 1:9
Sure, there is nothing new under the sun, but the joy is in the journey.
Creativity begets Creativity…the name of my article that was printed in the MB Herald in August, 2012.
Diana Pops is also Steve’s daughter-in-law and a talented singer, whose voice will be on one of the discs for the project. She also shares stories about her jewelry designs – here is an example: Mysteries much too wonderful for me.
